Between labs and one class where all daytime sections are already full, there’s a decent chance that D will end up with a schedule where she has an evening class or lab every night except Friday. Do most clubs and activities meet in the evening? Will this impede her ability to get involved on campus?

Cliubs/organizations meet at various times. My son has had meetings as early as 5 p.m. Other times, the meetings start at 7 or 8 p.m., sometimes later if the group knows there are members who have back-to-back (and more back-to-back) commitments. It has not hampered his opportunities on campus.

For a smaller club, your daughter might be able to have some input about the meeting time/day – they may ask what a convenient time for people is. For a larger or more well-established club, there is always the chance that it will interfere with a class, but that’s just a risk that cannot really be avoided. If she does have a conflict with the meeting time of something she’s really interesting in, most officers will be understanding (obviously there’s nothing she can do if she has a class!) and keep her up to date and still allow her to participate in the club as much as possible.
