when do colleges give you your schedule? for freshman year...

I may want to change my major before the fall beings...when should I receive my schedule? When should I tell the school of my change...I still do not know what I wan tto change it to..

Depending on the school, you will either register for classes in the summer or right before class starts. Freshman don’t generally declare a major. Now if you are attending a college that forced you to delcare a major (or at least a separate college) you may need to meet with your advisor.

Focus on taking gen ed classes the first semester if you can’t change your major right away.

I’d call the admissions office at your college and ask about switching your major. At my school, we could switch our major at any time and I in fact did switch it before college.

And most schools have students register in the summer or right before classes start.

I know at my school you go to orientation during the summer and an adviser talks to you alone and helps you choose classes. We aren’t allowed to change majors until after fall quarter, so if I wanted to switch I would just talk to my adviser and they would instead help me pick classes for my new major even though I technically wouldn’t be in it at the time. Maybe your school is similar and you can just take classes that you’ll need for your new major even if you can’t transfer yet. I hope this helped!

They don’t “pick” your schedule for you like they do in high school. You register for classes on your own and can change it whenever you want. I don’t know how your school works, but i’m assuming you can take any classes you want to regardless of your major.
