<p>The testing organizations usually say allow up to four weeks but reality is that most scores are sent fairly promptly after ordering and are sent on a regular basis in batches electronically at times agreed to by school and the testing agency.</p>
<p>As to when scores must be sent for Jan 1 app deadline: (a) in the past, there have been a very small number of colleges that actually want all scores and other required application materials in their hands by Jan 1 and thus you need to make sure they are sent well in advance; (b) all others with Jan 1 app deadline take scores that arrive after Jan 1 and usually want them in their hands by mid to third week of January; for December test date if you order it sent as soon as scores come out, you are usually safe; (c) note, if you already have scores, you don’t need to delay because you can send scores even before you send app.</p>
