when do decisions come out?

I know that they come out late December early January, but I'm kind of impatiently waiting for my first acceptance letter. I just want to be accepted somewhere!

I'm not sure! I also applied and haven't heard a word. All with good time.
Good Luck!

I heard they are sent out on January 15th but not 100% sure about that

what's with no one using this site.... goes to show it's not a competitive school?

or it is in Wisconsin... and it is very cold.. haha

that's y Marquette definitly isn't my first choice school

Hey everyone, I have some interesting news.... I actually IMed the admissions office, and they said the following:

We are starting to mail some of them now and they should all be in the mail by early next week. We are mailing them as we stuff the envelopes. They will not not necessarily be in alphabetical order because they are in several different piles. You should hear very soon.

Also, if anyone is interested in increasing their chances of scholarships, and you have not already sent a resume, you may do so. Fax it as soon as possible to 414-288-3764.

My friend got her acceptance letter today. We live a hour from Milwaukee, and she has a B last name, so that may have helped her. None of my other friends, or myself, have heard yet.

YAY!!!!! I was accepted! Anyone else for business administration?

awesome, where do you live?
What was enclosed in the packet?
Congratulations!

I'm from Milwaukee (Bayside)... I'm not sure about Marquette yet... I wanna wait till April to see where else I get in.

You'll get a large envelope in the mail. Inside is a folder-type thing. The front of the folder says "welcome" in modestly sized letters. Then you open it and there's a letter saying "Welcome to Marquette University's incoming class of 2010!"
The folder also has housing info and a tuition deposit form.
Where are u from, sara?

Austin Texas
I'm also not sure about Marquette. I'm don't know how I can handle the weather. How is the weather in Milwaukee?

I plan on attending Marquette--just waiting to get my acceptance letter! Did you hear they got 11,000 applicants this year for 1,800 spots? (Based on my EC's, test scores, grades, etc., I have a 95% chance of getting in.) The number of applicants keeps rising, as does the reputation of the school. I can't wait 'til I'm accepted.

Does anyone know if they notify you if you received the Ignatius Scholarship in your acceptance letter?

I not sure about the scholarships.
The statistics are amazing and exciting.
GOOD LUCK!

PS I already called dibs on a Raynor Scholarship, just FYI.

haha
We'll just see about that!

I'm not even wasting my time trying to get a Raynor scholarship; I think my chances are zero. Plus, that essay is a beast!

I'm trying to get the Marquette Alumni Club of Chicago and Diederich scholarships.

Sara,
Milwaukee isn't too cold... for example... today was like 56 or something... AMAZING! Normally it's around 37. We've had some pretty mild winters for the past few years. I just remember that last year I got pretty depressed during the winter cuz it's all gray outside.

Now i'm gunna start rambling...

I'd say that the biggest asset of Marquette is how it's so close to downtown. Depending on your major, there are some really great opportunities for you. For ex... a Spanish Education major came to my high school and observed/taught Spanish with my teacher for a few classes. Several banks/financial firms have major offices here. R W Baird has their headquarters here... it's listed as 18 on Fortune's top 100 companies to work for. They have interns come from Marquette.

The lake is a pretty great asset as well. It's awful at tims cuz that's where we but the sewer water....(cuz our "deep tunnel" doesn't work when there's rain)

Also, Marquette kind of borders the "ghetto." The southern side of campus is the interstate 94.

But, it's really cool that Marquette's rankings are getting better and better. This means it would be a good investment...

Basically, i'd love to answer any questions about Milwaukee.

Can u guys tell me if anything is due for these scholarships soon? (other than sign up for the onschool scholarship thing?)

Thanks guys you are all so helpful!
I am going to the onschool Scholarship test for theatre and the college of communications!

As far as I can tell most of the scholarship deadlines are Febuary 1, 2006. I don't meet the requirements for most of them because I am not from Wisconsin. Oh well we'll see what happens! Good luck to all of y'all applying for those scholarships....oh no I'm going all southern... I'll spare you. Do you say y'all in Wisconsin? haha
