Hey guys! I know all ivies come out around the same time but I dont know if it's March 28th or 29th? And do they just send you an email or how do you check?

I vaguely remember on CommonApp that a person could check a box if they wanted their admission decision emailed to them (on Harvard’s app, anyway).

I would assume for the other Ivies, a person would check online on their account; the college may or may not send an email.
The general date that I’m seeing is March 29th.

Most Ivy League colleges will release decisions on March 28, around 5pm EST.

Harvard will not allow you to check your decision online on the portal. Instead, the college will send you an email with the decision.

^^^And remember the emails come in waves, sometimes as late as 9 or 10 pm so don’t panic if yours does not arrive promptly.

Yep. From the Harvard website:

Emails will be sent to Freshmen applicants after 5pm EST on Thursday, March 28th. Due to the large number of emails being sent it could take a few hours before the email will be delivered to your inbox.

Each year, close to 5% of our emails bounce. If you do not receive the email, you may call the Admissions Office on Friday, March 29th to learn your decision.

As it was said at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1473945-countdown-harvard-decisions-2013-a-2.html

Check here for the decision time in your time zone:

Oh jeez. No pressure, thank you!

One more question, I’ve heard rumors that if you’re not accepted you wont even receive an email is that true?

^^ No, that’s not true. All students – whether accepted, rejected or deferred – receive an email. If memory serves correctly, decisions are sent out in batches, with rejections sent out first.

My S did not receive his acceptance e-mail until 9:30 p.m. - made for a long evening!
