see title.....

If you make semifinalist, they notify you like january or february...and you get admitted to the school then too.

r u sure? i got a letter saying the decision comes out Dec 15 you will find out if you got admitted and whether you are a semi

Hmmm. I thought dec. 15th was for ED only. Did u get the letter from Emory university itself?

hmmm my parents did say something about getting a letter, but I can't find the exact reading. They said "decisions would probably be out in a month," so I'm not sure how to take that.

Unless they change things, candidates for Emory Scholars find out if they have made semi-finalists mid January. Anyone who is a semi-finalist also finds out that they are admitted at that time.

I applied to the Emory Scholars program last year when I was a high school senior. I found out I was a semi-finalist early in February (like the 7th - 10th) or so. Then in late February or early March I found out that I wouldn't be a finalist. At that time I was told I was awarded a Liberal Arts scholarship of $10K. Then when the financial aid award letters came out I found I got another 5K in grants.

It was a hard decision for me, but I finally chose NYU over Emory. I'm from the northeast, you need a car in Atlanta. I visited and the bus/subway thing was somewhat of a pain given Emoey's location in Atlanta.

So even after all the acceptances and awards come out you have to do your soul searching and make a decision.

I'm sure I would have been very happy if I chose Emory, but I'm thrilled to be at NYU now.

sorry my ltter was for oxford
