From the Admissions website:

December 15th, 2007
ED decisions mailed no later than this date

Sometimes they come out early, we don't know yet; but I wouldn't expect them to come out early this year due to the increased number of applications.

I would say expect them online between the 10th and the 15th (I would imagine that if your decision is mailed out it is also available online, which means decisions will be online no later than the 15th, though I may be wrong), and in the mail between the 15th and the 23rd. That is purely guesstimating mail time, though.

When's the latest that an ED applicant would receive the decision in the mail?

When have online decisions been posted in the past?

In the mail? Well, it depends on how long it takes mail to get to you from Providence.

And if something were to get lost in the mail, it could take weeks after it is first sent.

okay i KNO it says the 15th. some1 telling me that was not the pt of the post. i want to kno typically when during the 10th- 15th decisions come. does every1 get them at around same time over email?

err, i think you have to log in to your brown account and there will be the decision, but don't bind me on that

Well that's the only definitive answer anyone can give you. Go on and check your Brown application status every day at around 5 PM starting on the 10th if you think decisions will be online that early, and then you can come back here and let us know when you found out.

Apparently Columbia has a pattern of sending out their letters on the first Thursday in December, which is the 6th this year. That doesn't really have any connection to Brown... but wishful thinking- maybe that early? I heard last year Brown decisions were up on the 14th at 5:00, but I also heard that a friend of a friend got her letter on the 1st (AND she got in. jealoussss). I don't know if that's true, but those are all the rumors I've compiled haha... anxious much?

Just a smidgen.

haha yeah i'm anxious too. I basically am not able to wait anymore because December 15th is the only day i care about...I'm just taking it one day at a time and trying to stop counting down the days, lol.

Wow imagine how easy life would be in if we got accepted ED. No application madness during winter break, no more stress about GPA (well, almost) and we could start actually thinking about college life vs. focusing on applications.

If I remember from the past, for my son, it was posted at 5 PM on the Friday (in this case it would be Dec 14), although if they are saying through the 15th, it is possible it will be Sat the 15th. They did not do it sporadically-all were posted on the same day/time. Just remember, so many people are hitting the site, that it took my son about 15 min to actually get his answer. He had to put in his password (that is given when apply) and either an acceptance letter comes up, rejection letter or deferral letter. Just be patient because you may not be able to get online exactly at 5 PM. For those that want to get a response by snail mail, it will prob come a few days later-depending on how far you are from Providence. Good luck!

Last year decisions were posted on December 14 at 5:00 pm. A week or two earlier, a note was posted on the Admissions site giving the time and date that decisions would be released. The mailed letter arrived a few days later. Good luck to all of you!

thanks for the informative reply.
So it seems like decisions are posted on that track your application site for Brown. I always thought they were emailed to our personal emails. Do they do both? Or is it just put on the track your app. site.

Last year the letters were only available on the Brown website (https://selfservice.brown.edu/ss/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin) and were not sent to personal email addresses.

I mean, how could you not see that decisions are posted on the tracking site? There is a space under Application Data titled "Decision." One could guess that that would provide a link to one's decision in the allotted space when decisions are made available, no?

dave thats not wat i meant, i kno they are posted on the site...i wanted to kno if they were emailed as well which they arent apparently.

dammit i want to kno now

We all have to wait a little longer. But if you are really that anxious, like I said, starting on the 10th, log on every day at 5PM EST. Or just monitor these boards; I'm sure when they are put up, you'll have a slew of people posting about their outcome.

yeah good suggestion
