<p>im 100% sure the contents on my resume are perfectly valid, but many of them were international experiences so i was wondering if something was going wrong during this.</p>

<p>It depends upon the company.</p>
<p>With my company, we check references. We were given a statistic today during our company recruitment seminar that something like 40% of statistics that were checked on people's resumes were actually falsified, and that our HR manager had personally run into a lot of stuff that wasn't just stretched, but that was flat-out fabricated. We check references, we order transcripts of new hires, and we do new-employee drug testing.</p>
<p>We don't run criminal background checks, but many companies do.</p>
<p>If the things on your resume are valid, then you shouldn't be washed out during background checks, even if the experiences were international... particularly in the age of the internet, where you can get in touch with people via e-mail with relative ease.</p>
<p>I don't think the OP meant an actual background check. Not the one where they search for your criminal history (and which they need your explicit permission to do it). I believe the OP meant reference checks, an in contacting old employers.</p>
<p>ken285/ yeah. exactly. i don't have any criminal history at all... (i was forbidden from the library for about 3 month during my high school years and that's the only thing that comes to my mind - i pulled a prank on library computers making them look like they have viruses although they were not)</p>
<p>i don't think they do it after on-campus interview. there are still lots of candidates to consider. there might be a second interview on-site, if they accepted you then they will do background check after that interview.</p>
