When do Housing apps come out?

Just wondering when the housing apps become available. I'm guessing it will be after the RD's are admitted.

lol, it prolly won't be until at least after May 1st, bc that's when the RD's have to decide whether they're coming or not (if they got in). I think that from that point on, the distinction between ED and RD disappears in terms of mailings.

thanks! I know it's really early to ask, but I just need some good mail to look forward to after I receive my rejection letter for scholarships this month...

I believe July is when you hear about dorms.

Last year, as far as I remember, with the April Welcome package came the application for housing and meals due on May 1st. By early August they contacted by e-mail and regular mail the students with their housing assignments, but

(sorry, it got cut off)…since the sent the bill in July, looking at the price we had to pay, we knew the S had a single.

FYI, Wash U does sometimes do forced triples. BUT--

They do choose carefully the rooms they triple. My S is a freshman in a forced triple this year, but it's a room that was designed to be a handicapped room. So instead of sharing a smaller bathroom with 3 other people (his roommate and two kids from another room) he's sharing a larger bathroom with just his two roommates. The dorm room itself is bigger than a normal dorm room---it's a little short on storage for the 3 of them (my son got the one bed that wasn't bunked but has just an armoire instead of a real closet), but with some creative storage additions it's working fine because overall the room really is big enough for 3. All the rooms in this dorm have an entranceway area and that's been very handy for storing stuff outside of the main dorm room, like most of his ROTC stuff. And the dorm itself is just gorgeous and recently renovated, common areas full of leather furniture, a TV room with a plasma screen and a big leather sectional and a pool table right next to the laundry room. All steps from one of the main dining halls. Has to be seen to be believed. Anyways, he likes both his roommates, so the triple has been a good experience overall.

That is the Koening dorm right?

Liggett-Koenig, yes. They call it LK or "The Castle" (because it looks like one).

Housing for upperclassmen isn't officially determined until the end of April (the process started a few days ago, but the last deadline isn't until April), so you probably won't hear anything until at least then, although I agree with the April welcome thing and the July bill thing, because I know that after I went to the April Welcome thing, I think it was a couple of weeks later the form for housing came....but then again, I'm horrible at remembering dates : )
