When Will I know what books I need for classes? Classes start on Wednesday and I haven't gotten any memo/notice on what books I need for each class. We are given laptops, is that all we might need? Or will everything be explained the first day?

For every class that I have ever been in the text is listed on the syllabus you should get the first day of class. You won't need to have anything prior to the first day anyways. My school posts book information on the bookstore website (searchable by department, class number, and instructor) and that's the only prior notification we get.

You don't need books till probably the 2nd week. The books you need will be given on the class syllabus, which you will get the first day, unless the professor decides to put it online and email you to let you know where it is (the web address).

My school doesn't give prior notification about books, but they are arranged by class/section/professor in the book store, so you can go, find your class, and find the section, and get the books you need.

At most colleges, you can visit the college bookstore ahead of time and get what you need. They usually have all the books needed for each class, listed by class department and number. If you wait too long, they may be out of some books, so you might want to get over there soon.

OP, get down to the bookstore first thing tomorrow (Tue) and get your books. Take the list of classes you have, and the books will be on the shelves listed by class and section (eg. English 1, section 3).

Its better to go a few days in advance since the bookstore gets very crowded the week school starts. Also if you're interested in saving a few bucks and buying used texts, you get a better selection to look thru if you get there early.
