when do kids actually get ED decisions?

Is it an email, a letter mailed ON Dec 15th, does it vary by college? Do some colleges let kids know before letting others know? If anyone has info on ED practices at the following schools, I'd appreciate it!

William and Mary
St. Olaf

Well, I have no idea about Williams & Mary or St. Olafs. However, I understand that Bucknell is mailing their decisions on 12/10, and W&L lets applicants know on 12/22.

Lehigh says Mid-December. So, I guess the major goal is to have them all out before the end of the year.

W&M's website says

"December 1 - decision letters will be mailed to students by this date"

Surely you're not applying ED to two schools ;)

No, but my friend's son applied ED to W&M and I was curious!!

Well you could have done the same thing I did - looked it up on their website! ;)

My son applied ED two years ago to a school with a 12/15 notification date. THe school must have put the letters in the mail on 12/12 or so because ppl started hearing on the 13th and everyone had letters BY the 15th. Since the 15th is on a Monday this year I suspect they will be mailed on something like the 11th.

thank you, soccer, this was a helpful answer. I know I could have looked up the dates on the websites, but I wondered if the schools sent out the acceptances/rejections all at once, rolling, by email or by letter.

At some schools you can request an email notification, and they are sent after 3 pm on the 15th. (They encourage you to check the results at home and not at school.)
