Major is Biochemisty.
The prereqs at my school have set it up so that it will take 5 semesters of chemistry to complete the requirement for transfers to UCs.
I don’t think I can fulfill this requirement in a 2 years span since we have to chronologically complete the courses and cannot take chem courses concurrently. There was also a mishap in my schedule so I won’t be taking chem in my first semester. Will it still be accepted if I take my chem course the 2nd year’s summer and send my application in Spring before I completed the course?
Or will I HAVE to complete everything within the 2 year period?
I would post this in the UC transfer thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/
^ I agree. Lot of UC pros there. It is actually pretty common though for STEM major students to actually take 3 years to successfully transfer as there are usually a lot of requirements. Having AP scores and whatnot usually does help speed things up, but still, there might be a lot to cover. It also really depends on the school you are interested in and how competitive the major is. For instance, if you were applying for UCLA as a computer science major and were missing even 1 or 2 courses, that could be like an automatic rejection since they are so strict with the requirements. It’s perfectly possible to get into UCs with some courses missing, but like I said, it depends on the exact school and such. I got into UCSD for computer science with the programming covered and almost no math or science courses, so it really does vary by school.
