Accepted (:
aaaah I'm happy

Okay I'm reading about people who have 34 ACT scores and got waitlisted... that's not right. I had a 26 ACT...

Ughh. I'm so depressed right now.

Got rejected. 3.4 GPA and 29 ACT. I don't know how I'm going to get into Boston University when I got rejected from Northeastern. :(

Lpspider, northeastern may think theyre your backup and believes you'll get into schools like BU so don't give up yet! It's totally possible

Thanks stacie. I know it's possible - I just wish I'd know one way or another. AT BU I'm below average on the GPA and average on the ACT... so we'll see. - Thanks.

I just got in.

S got accepted! Anyone know where financial aid info is listed? Is it available on the site somewhere?

there was a link at the bottom of my acceptance letter when I entered the "portal" thing for financial aid. It didn't give me specific information though. But the website is so slow!

ACCEPTED!!

2.9UW/3.0W
ACT: 29
SAT: 640-CR, 710-MA, 740-WR(11 on essay) (1350/1600… 2090/2400)
Northeastern CCIS
Excellence Scholarship - $28,000
Southern California Resident

I see absolutely no trend in NEU's admissions.

I never intended on going to Northeastern, but this is very insulting. My friend at my school who has virtually the EXACT same SAT score in all three categories, but a GPA of 99 was accepted and offered a scholarship of $15,000 (I think). We have nearly the same EC's too.

NY White Male

SAT: M-680 CR-620 W-630
WGPA: 95

3 AP classes this year: Stats, Calc AB and Psych

Past AP classes taken: Chem, US History, World History

thank you northeastern, for my very first rejection.

I am not seeing a trend either. Is this normal?

why would you apply to a school you never intended to go to? that makes no sense whatsoever

The standards were definitely a lot higher for regular decision than early decision. Another factory is probably your major. If you see someone with low stats getting accepted, their major probably was not very competitive.

Also, Northeastern's is actually harder to get into than BU based on average GPA and SAT's. Since they received so many apps this year (I have no clue how many BU got), The average accepted student at Northeastern will probably have noticeably higher stats than the average at BU.

See, that's strange. I got in (GPA: 3.8 uw / ?? w; 34 ACT; 2010 SAT) and got 15k/yr merit.

I think it helps that I'm from Denver and took AP Calc BC as a sophomore.

It looks as though NEU will continue to be competitive since its acceptance rate was so low and so many people applied...only good things to come!

They seem to value GPA quite a bit.

I got accepted!

I got the deans scholarship too but they gapped my need quite a bit.Ah well that was expected.
