When Do Notifications Go Out?

merit award?

no, just accepted

Any udpates from Admissions?

talked to admissions a few minutes ago and she said that all OOS decisions were mailed last Friday!

i still haven't recieved anything yet. i wonder how long it takes for something form virginia to reach maryland

Nuttin' here in Rockville, either. I doubt the envelopes actually made the Friday mail no matter what Admissions said. They would be here. So if they actually hit the Monday AM mail, would be here tomorrow I would think. We'll see.

alright, I'm trying not to be impatient since W&M said April 1st
(I know mail can take longer to get all the way to Ohio and they were sending letters in waves, but thats been going on for about 3 weeks now)

but, it is now April 2ND! and not even an email--all the other schools told me early, even if by only a few days :(

I just want to know...either way.

D has not received any mail, but got an evite for accepted students yesterday. It said, "If you haven't received anything yet, good news is on the way!" So I guess the letters are coming. Did anyone else get an email like this?

so how do you know good news is on the way?

"so how do you know good news is on the way?"

Haha, good question -- that's what their evite said, so I guess we're just taking their word for it. :)

I should have read your post better..it said how you knew...and are you oos and when did you get the email...ugh the agnst..

I only wish we did receive EVITE like that. Since she is not the best email kid in the world, the possibility exists that she may have just ignored it...who knows. All I know is that it has been a VERY long wait for these kids...

Yes, we're in FL. D just mentioned the email to me last night, but I'm not sure when it was actually sent. I will see if I can find out from her later this afternoon.

And yes, its been a heck of a long wait!! Fortunately for us, WM was the last one one. Unfortunately, a lot of the financial wrangling is still ongoing.

S just got a big envelope with "WELCOME" on the outside. As screen name indicates, we're in NY. Postmarked Monday 3/31.

congrats...

where in ny are you from...are school hasn't had a kid a wm for 5 years...overdue

So if we didn't receive an email like that, does that mean we're not in?

Didn't get the evite; I'll post again when I get a decision in the mail.

Nothing again today in Upstate NY. No e-mail either to the best of my knowledge. My D knows this is a long-shot being a female from NYS, but she's ready to get this thing over with one way or another. I hope she hears something tomorrow.

We're in Florida as well, Sarasota, and we've heard nothing. Very disappointing as she was deferred from the regular admit pool. The other problem for us is that two members of the Board of Trustees at the school pulled out all the stops to get their daughters admitted two years ago, and neither of their kids chose to attend W&M. There was a great deal of residual bad blood and the admissions dept. remembered the experience. We all think it really hurt the chances for the school to successfully place students, no matter what the kid's qualifications as no child has been accepted since then.
