When do OOS people get their decisions?

Since top 10% of Texas students get their decisions first, around which month will OOS people receive their decisions? Mid-December or after January?

I'm sure it depends on your stats. I'm not top 10%, but I havn't received anything and I applied 2 months ago (in-state).

I think I'm going to call UT tomorrow and ask them that. I'm really curious because my status page has been saying for about four weeks now that the Admissions Committee is reviewing my application. So I'm gonna call and ask them if OOS kids don't hear until like January, then I dont have to wonder what is taking them so long to make a decision.

Back when my older son was applying, his status page said that they were reviewing his app until he heard in March. By that time, he decided to go somewhere else! It drove him crazy (and oos!!)

He ended up at U Florida - Go Gators!!!

My sr son will be at UT next year, so Go Longhorns!!

U may not have to wait too long, as I was accepted mid-November, and I am OOS. Good luck!

airbear, you (by looking at your older posts) are decidedly a "top drawer" applicant :) That is why you heard so quickly! UT wanted to snag you before you were enticed by another college.

DS is instate. It took them 10 days to process his application and admit him to the major of his choice. (He was accepted a few days ago.) He is top 2% and has upper 1400 SAT's. We were thrilled at the quick turnaround time! AG54 - our sons may both be on campus next fall! :) I'm going to encourage him to join a "FIG", if he doesn't get into the honors program and get honors housing.

ag54,

So that explains it...

So, did they snag you? Or, are you waiting to hear from some other schools?

I am also OOS and heard back with a decision a week or so ago.

what were you stats like? were u like best of the best?

like that airbear person?

Thanks for the comment. UT is high on my list, so I'm probably going to go there...

airbear and teslasnake, what states are ya'll from?

I'm from NJ, my stats were pmed to cjhmi.

Just out of curiosity, what made you think of UT? It is far from home, both literally and figuratively, if you know what I mean!

I lived in NJ for two years when I was younger (Shorthills), my dad was transferred there and then transferred back to Houston. I loved it and have fond memories of playing in the snow and skating on ponds. (Of course I was too young to shovel snow or drive in it!!)

I'm from the big 505...

New Mexico? That's almost Texas ;)

I've been through Albuquerque and Taos. Pretty country, lots of adobe, dry, dry heat!

I applied to a lot of schools, and most of them centered around my primary interest, which is studying business as an undergraduate.

I'm an avid reader of BusinessWeek, which regards their BHP very highly, so McCombs got put on my list :)

Well, I hope you decide to attend! McCombs is a really highly regarded program. It's nice for us because it is instate. But, I think that even oos tuition is not too astronomical!

Let us know as your other acceptances come in, and what you eventually decide!!

That's right, ag54; you're a smart cookie...
