When do RD applicants hear? (plus another question, don't want to double post)

When do RD applicants hear whether we get in or not?

Also, the Princeton Review said that Case students were among the unhappiest. Why do you think that is?

(I didn't want to double post)

Thanks!

Well, generally speaking, those that are unhappy tend to respond to the surveys such as PR's, but those that are happy/content don't.

If seriously considering Case, visit and ask current students if they are happy, watch them, observe from afar. You will get a better feel from your own observations than a college search reference book.

My S is a current Case student and is perfectly happy there. He is very involved, but still works very hard on his school work.

I applied ED...so I can't really help you there, I would assume by the national April first date...

Case has hovered around the #18 unhappiest position for a while now...
I would imagine because, while it is GREATLY improving, Case still carries a heavy "nerdy" reputation. Case also doesn't have the high number of parties and heavy party atmosphere that many larger and state schools have.
A lot of kids I know here take a pretty good "work hard, play hard" type attitude. I usually go out friday/saturday nights, and are far from unhappy, but Yes, there are friday nights spent studying, or weekends where all I do is chill with my roommates in our suite or a friend's suite, but thats fine with me.

Students who come to case expecting it to be an OSU type atmosphere are usually very disappointed. Kids who come here and are happy generally know what to expect and visit before hand, talk to students etc.

If you've got any other questions, and would like to here more, I'm a current sophomore at case, and you can feel free to email me. I can share a bit more in depth and less PC answers than I can here.

Thanks for the info. If I have any questions, I will definitely contact you.

Thanks again.

RD decisions are, I think, rolling. I heard back at the start of Feb, whereas a classmate of mine heard back about 3.5 weeks after I did, at the start of March.

As for the unhappiness part, I've written about some of Case's problems before:

A few people have PMed with questions, which I promptly answered to their satisfaction, so if you have any additional questions, feel free to PM me as well.
