I applied early/mid November (maybe later since my stuff might have been slow coming out of my school as they had to mail it) and just got my acceptance today. Since I am OOS, I am heavily relying on some sort of scholarship since I can easily predict a lack of financial aid because of my "assumed" financial situation at home.

Do scholarship notifications come later? And I just had my essay added to my application about last week because of some technical error so I'm wondering if it is too late for it to help me for scholarship consideration? Or is that a question I have to ask them directly?

I asked the same question a little while ago, see this thread for some replies:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pittsburgh/1032557-queston-about-oos-full-tuition-scholarships.html

Also, take a look at the various recent threads talking about scholarships, as other people have asked similar questions about the timing of scholarship awards. The take home message is: it varies, some are receiving scholarships with their acceptance, others later.

Good luck!

Here’s my answer from the class of 2015 Thread
I’m not sure if timing stays the same throughout the application period.

Applied in the summer but transcripts not sent until late Sept. Accepted mid October, full tuition scholarship offer early Nov. School of A&S, OOS student, top 5% and 2300 SAT. Pitt encouraged early apps for scholarship consideration. It seems to be mostly by-the-numbers at this level. Sorry but I don’t know about cut-off dates for essay submissions. You should call and ask them.
