LS2 is "closed" but only 210/288 spots are taken, each discussion only has 15 people. my friend who took LS2 said the discussions are about 20 people, so i'm assuming they capped enrollment for it temporarily.

when will they lift it? when the freshies register at orientation?

VETCaddict's question is different than yours jamba. For the english comp classes, the max is 10 students (with no waitlist), so when its full, its full. They aren't going to change that enrollment cap at all.

As for LS2, I'm not sure why that happens. Technically, there are 14 discussion sections with a limit of 15 people, and all of them are full, so all 210/210 spots are taken, and the lecture part of the registrar's page is just miscalculated when it says there are 288 spots. But it certainly might be the case that they will add more discussions or increase the size of the current ones. LaKretz 110 can hold over 300 students, so there's no reason they couldn't. It is annoying when the class is listed as "open" but all the discussions are full.

thanks for the reply, i guess i'll just keep an eye on it every day to see if it opens up. if not then i'll have to suffer through 9am physics lecture and 6pm physics lab. :(

hey i was wondering if you can still change your schedule even though i've already enrolled? can i switch classes if there are openings and can i add like another class? i'm thinking about taking chinese 1, which i did not enroll in at orientation

yes, you have open enrollment now :). i played around with my schedule when I got home because I still couldn't decide which class to NOT take, lol.

You have to keep in mind also that for the classes with lab sections, can repeated (if someone didn't pass the lecture) without having to retake the lab portion. So it would make sense that there are spots "open" in the lecture but not in the discussions as the labs occur during discussion.

Hm.. i was just wondering.. isn't the max for eng comp 3 about 18 people? I could've sworn that when I had taken it, we had more than 10 people...
