When do u guys sign up for the SAT?

What grade do you guys start signing up for the SAT? And how many times do you guys take the SAT? And when exactly, like in march, october, may?

I'm a junior and I'm not really sure when is the best time to take the test. I'm planning on taking one towards the end of my junior year & then the beginning of senior year. But idk if that's too late for the application and stuff...

Im a senior so i can help!

Most people sign up in their junior year, about two months before the test. Check college board for deadlines… I would definitely recommend signing up sooner rather than later because I got bumped out of my high school because I signed up too late and had to go to a school pretty far away to take it.

Most people take the may sat in junior year and then the October one in senior year. I personally don’t think this is the best option because, by October, you have forgotten any tips or tricks you may have learned from an sat course you took last year (definitely take a course or get a tutor…I took Princeton review, it was great).

Some people take it in march, but I feel like that is too early because, at least at my high school, the English teachers take some time to do sat prep in school in April right before the may sats, and most sat classes don’t start until after the march sats.

What I did was take it in may and then in June. They were only a month apart, so it was still fresh in my mind, and I knew what I had to work on. Also, it was a relief because at the end of your junior year, you are completely done with sat testing and don’t have to worry any more (as long as you don’t want to take them AGAIN)

So I would say take the may and June sats, as long as you can handle ten hours of testing within a month!

Good luck!

Take it in the Spring and fall of your junior year, then in fall of your senior year. I fell behind and didn’t take it until June of Junior year.

Personally, I like the ACT better. You should take both though. You’ll also need 2-3 subject tests. Those you can take after you take the AP class.

I’m thinking about taking the SAT June of Junior year and then in October and then an SAT subject test in April or may. But is takin the SAT fall of senior year too late?

I took the ACT in June as well as two subject tests in June (of junior year).

And I’m taking one subject test this November.

I am choosing to take the ACT instead of the SAT, but I am now a junior so I might be able to help anyway. I am taking the December test, April test and the June test if my score is too low after the first two tests.

Which ones do you guys feel is easier, the ACT or SAT?

It is not a matter of one being easier, it is which is a better fit for you. I talked with my advisor about it and then she gave me some resources which helped me decide. Another good method of determining is to take a practice test for both and see how you did/which one you are more comfortable with.
