When do UChicago merit scholarships start arriving?

Hello everybody! So I found out I got admitted today (yay!) but my family's EFC is very high so I highly doubt I want to go to UChicago because the tuition is just so expensive! I checked on the website and it said merit scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis until the end of April, but has anybody receive merit scholarship offers along with their admission?

I received a 15-thousand-a-year offer with my decision today.

Hurray Silverturtle. Congrats on the UChicago and Brown acceptances and on the terrific Chicago merit $ – all well deserved!

I’m hoping for some merit as well because my EFC is incredibly high…

Congrats silverturtle!
Was the offer included in the official letter or is it somewhere else on the portal?

I was offered $10,000 a year. The merit scholarship (mine, University Scholars) was included in the online decision notification [at the very bottom of the page–don’t miss it!]

this is an unusual question, but basically i seem to have accidentally checked the “no” box for the question about merit aid on my app. now that i’ve been accepted, is it too late to indicate that i’d like to be considered for it?

I got 5k merit (University Scholar).

Congrats to all who have received merit aid! Has anyone received both Fin Aid (need based) & a merit scholarship? Really hoping for some merit aid to make this affordable!

I will be getting finaid. They said they would send me an email when they’re all done figuring my stuff out, so idk how much I’m getting yet. And I got merit aid, so they give out both.

Is it wierd that i got my financial aid decision but not an admissions decision? Earlier in the month I got a likely letter but I have not gotten an official acceptance.

My merit scholarship was at the bottom of the acceptance letter. I too almost missed it. :)

so does that mean you know your merit aid even if you haven’t received financial aid information yet? (I’m just trying to figure out if the fact that there’s no merit scholarship info at the bottom of my acceptance letter means that I did not receive any merit aid)

The merit aid letter was right next to my financial aid letter – i got my financial aid with my acceptance.

hope that helps!

Is there a separate merit aid letter and need aid letter, or do they come together? (For those who received both).

Have any EA admits gotten merit aid notifications??

^^ they were separate.

@AxelNofz: D (accepted EA) did the same thing, but when she saw the merit $ coming from other schools emailed her admissions person to “uncheck” the box and quickly received confirmation of University Scholar w/$5k.

I did not apply for any financial aid including merit but yet I still received some so it may not matter.

@ 684149 Yes. I got it the same time a link to the letter was at the bottom of the acceptance letter. It also came in the acceptance package.
