I recently submitted my application for U of T, and I was wondering when decisions come out. Their website says 6-8 weeks, but is that 6-8 weeks after you submit your application or 6-8 weeks after the January deadline?
Typically it’s 6-8 weeks (or whatever the published time frame) from the time your file is complete,
and submitted for review.
For example, if your application, fees and scores are in, but they’re still waiting for your transcript,
you file would not be considered complete and ready for review until that’s received.
Most schools will give you portal information to open an account and track your application when they send the application confirmation, or soon there after.
Be sure to create a student account or portal, to see where in the process your file is.
This would also be where they would let you know if more information is required to complete your file.
Some schools will keep you updated as to status a varying points along the way.
For U of T, 6-8 weeks would be the earliest to expect your decision. Decisions tend to come in waves, with the biggest wave around the third week of March. There are smaller waves in the other months. Students who apply to Commerce or Engineering will tend to hear later, as will students who applied to Trinity or Victoria.
