When do we actually have to attend class?

<p>I'm confused on when the first day of the class is..I mean when we actually have to attend class.
Fall semester begins on Aug 22nd (Thursday), and instruction begins a week after that (Aug 29th).
Do we just have to go to our class on Aug 29th? Is there any kind of workshop (or anything...)I have to attend before instruction begins?
Also I want to make sure it is on Thursday because other institutions I've attended always started their instruction on Monday.</p>

<p>If there is discussion or lab before first lecture, that depends case-by-case for each class.</p>
