When Do We Find Out About Brown?

????? I'm aching to know.

Mid may.

Where do you go now, copper? What are your stats and where else did you apply? Thanks

Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia
SAT: 1440
GPA: 4.0
Taking overloaded courseload this semester.
Recommendations: 1 from a brown alumni; both talking about how I was the only freshman in the class and excelled
Essay: the best expression of myself that I can offer
ECs: Volunteer Emory (community service program), Student Admission Representatives, Literary Magazine
SAT 2s: Not so strong, may be my downfall - 710, 670, 590
High GPA in high school too

Applied to Brown, Columbia, Harvard - Top choice is Brown
Unsure if I will leave Emory though; it would be a tough transition

No interview at Harvard so probably not in there

You?

Hrm, brown didn't give out interviews either, did they?

p.s., do you know one Katie Lewis? She's an Emory sophomore. I'd post my stats but I"m sure eveyrone eles on this board is really tired of seeing them. I'm sure you can find them though, and if you can't, or don't want to, I can send them to you.

I go to Tulane and applied to Brown (top choice) Pomona, Oberlin, Vassar, Yale, Swarthmore, WashU, U Puget Sound, and UPenn

Guess Who's Dying

Cooper...just curious as to why you're trying to transfer out of Emory?

bumpageageage

hey claysoul, did you get in anywhere yet?

I am dying from the wait, too...

bump... because two of my best friends are waiting with bated breath to hear from brown

It's not so much why I'm transferring out of Emory, but why I'm transferring to Brown. Emory's a great school, just not for me. Here are the reasons I am transferring:

1) Brown's lack of core curriculum - I can take any class I want!
2) Brown's pass/fail option - I can take one, two, or three classes pass/fail and learn at my own rate
3) Location - I want to come back north closer to all my friends; plus Brown's campus is very urban and that's what I originally wanted in a college
4) Diversity - Emory has diversity, yes, but it can be difficult to find
5) Academics - Emory has disappointed me somewhat in what I can get out of my classes; for example, my econ class is being taught by a graduate student who cannot answer questions in class
6) Prestige - it's important, but not all-encompassing
7) Emory has screwed me on financial aid - When I first got in, I asked for financial aid and they rejected my plea; I'm going on a study abroad program through Emory this summer (for about $8500) and they again rejected my financial aid (and they didn't tell me they had so I had already booked the flight) - granted, I won't get financial aid from Brown but at least I'll be getting more for my money

Emory is awesome in many ways, don't get me wrong. Brown is more for me.

Red: a podunk school in the NW. I havcen't heard from ANYBODY. and i'm dying!!

ugh that sucks. im in the same situation, minus a podunk school. a few more days!

I'm in at Vassar! Or so says the rugby coach.
