Does anyone know when we are finding out about what IHUM classes we are taking and which dorms we are staying?

They send out the dorm assignments on August 12th. I don't think you find out about IHUMs until Orientation.

... unless you're SLE, in which case being in FloMo for a dorm would be a decent indication that you got SLE, right?

actually, the director of SLE sends SLE people a letter, so you'll (we'll) definitely know ... I really hope nothing goes wrong there... it would be depressing to be like the one person who didn't get in

Well, I do really want to get in... but on the other hand, all of my other top IHum choices were really really neat. Plus it'd give me more flexibility to take more courses. So it might end up being a blessing in disguise not to get it. (That's what I keep telling myself anyway -- just in case I don't!)

Oh, I know the feeling! I picked Literature of Crisis, which actually sounded a lot like SLE. (2 philosophy books, 1 epic, 1 political commentary, 1 drama). On the other hand, if I don't get in SLE, I'm always going to regret not applying for FroSoCo...I'm hoping what they say is true in that everyone pretty much gets in SLE. I won't die if I don't get in ... but it will be disappointing.

Dude, I want to find out my housing information and who my roommate is, like, NOW. hissyfit

Roommate we don't even find out until we get there, right? (And I kinda like it that way).

But housing info and IHum... YES! I really want that soon...

yeah, I'm in no hurry to find out who my roomie is. But I want my housing assignment, cos I want to get started on the reading!!! (hehe, a good excuse to buy another book)

if you indicate SLE as #1 on your list, you're most likely to get in.

I can understand why they want to hold off roommate info, sort of, but I still can't suppress a twinge of jealously that my friends can correspond with their roommates already.

I forgot about the reading! Yaaay for reading and buying books with my employee discount at B&N.

Secretly, I think they withhold the roomate info so we buy all our microwaves, refrigerators, and any item you'd want to share there to boost the local economy. Crafty Stanford!

It'd be interesting to know more about our roommates. I for one am not looking forward to sharing a room with a complete stranger. Let's hope the sorting process is as good as they claim it is.

ohhh someone on facebook told me that people with the same advisor are going to be living in the same residence hall. dont know if its true

Sort of -- I think the people have to have residence halls that are really close together, anyway. Not necessarily the same, but the same family...

(and garou, I'm so jealous! I'd've killed to work at B&N, but they only hire 18-year-olds...)

Yeah, someone was talking about advisees living nearby ("from the same residential area" according to http://www.stanford.edu/dept/undergrad/uac/freshmen/advisingteam.htm). Don't know if that means the same dorm or not.

Barnes and Noble sounds nice, but they probably fire people who spend all day reading the merchandise :)
