When/how will we find out our decisions?

April 1 online? I'm just guessing but shouldn't it be on UVa's website?

If you apply online, you find out as soon as they mail them. Last year, for RD, this date was around march 29. UVa is pretty quick in rifling through all of the applications they get and I'm sure that admission statuses will be online no later than the 30th.

even better! do they notify you of scholarships at the same time?

do u think i will be rejected or waitlisted? i was deferred earlier... does that automatically indicate that i am waitlisted?

crichessill what kind of a question is that? our guess is as good as your own.

maybe my question wasnt clear? i meant if iwas deferred, on april 1st when i check my status, is it automaticlaly going to be waitlisted? or could be rejected?

either one, or you might be accepted i guess

No, if you are deferred, you are not automatically waitlisted. If you are deferred, you are evaluated again in the context of the entire applicant pool, and then you are either accepted, rejected, or waitlisted.

oh so that's what he was asking

So they don't post the results online for students who applied using the written application?

erm...good question.. i did not apply online, but by paper. i bet that we can use our email addresses, or social security # or something like that and see our status on the 30th even if we did not apply online...

That's what I thought...

I don't think so-the ED people who applied on paper had to wait for the letter.

Really? Ah, well, what's a few extra days....

Kebree, the do not post decisions online for people who applied using the paper app. I forgot where I read about this, but they have two main reasons for doing this. 1) They're trying to encourage people to apply online by offering them this added benefit and 2) if you apply online, you're in their online system, so it makes that stuff easier, or something like that.

I had to use all of the paper apps because I had to put pictures in with the text. (It was sort of crucial for my essays as most of them concerned art....) It made the application process much more time consuming, but hopefully it will pay off.

Well hopefully you'll get a lot of big fat envelopes to keep you occupied before getting one from UVA =)

Btw, does UVA interview?

I don't think so...I never saw anything about it. This is the only thing their admissions website has:

We focus on the following credentials:

Excellent performance in a rigorous secondary-school program

(Writing, Math 1C or 2C, third of your choice)

Extra-curricular Involvement and Honors
Writing as demonstrated in the Admission Essays

I thought they didn't require SAT IIs.

But yay for the no interviewing thing. I like Uva, but I don't know if I would've had enough to say because I had never visited. And this means I'll have four more interviews at most. =)
