when do we find out?

i applied regular decision and i sent it on february 1st (extremely late i know) but they have all my stuff and i was just wondering when i should recieve my decision?

On or before 1 April.

I have an extremely frustrated friend who applied over 3 months ago and has still not received a decision. He is OOS, so this may make a difference in the wait time.

if you are a can't miss student or automatic it will be sooner than a regular person.

What qualifies as a can't miss student OOS?

Usually it means that you have applied for and been accepted to an honors program.

And if we applied to Plan II on the last day when can we expect to hear ... ?

I'm also out of state.

On or before 1 April.

Plan II does rolling admissions for the kids who apply early. Roughly speaking, if you applied before November 1 you are guaranteed to hear back by December 15. Kids who apply in November usually hear back in January, kids who apply in December usually hear back in February, and after the new year you usually hear back some time in March.

I don't know if they do rolling denials though, so if you applied in November or December and haven't heard anything back yet, I wouldn't be too optimistic about getting positive news at all.

What about BHP in january?

Do you know if it is the same for students who just applied to the university? Like, if I applied on the last day of November, should I have heard back in January ( I didn't apply to an honors program)?

No. The University rolls decisions for top ten percenters and for outstanding applicants from outside the top ten percent pool (usually this mean that you were accepted EC to an honors program).

They have begun to issue decisions for non-top ten kids but they are starting with those who applied earliest I do believe.

Well, I just heard today that I got in and I applied on the last day in November...

Which is really early for UT. The deadline is Feb 1 so most people apply in January. The only exception is for Plan II which has a guaranteed Early Consideration date of December 15.

Top ten kids may apply early just to get it out of the way. I got accepted in late October literally the day after I sent in my transcript and SAT score. I had yet to even submit my essays.
