When do we find out?

I just received a response from an Admissions Rep. She told me that unfortunately the information I had was INCORRECT (she wasn't vague) and that we should be hearing back from them by the end of next week. Sorry, I feel just as ****ty as you all do. It's still a ways away. :(

By the information I had, i mean the information that everyone has. The March 20th article earlier in the thread is unfortunately not correct.

sigh

i was really hoping for thursday

The end of next week isn't too bad. Spring break for me!

same. time should pass quickly with the ncaa tourney.

i really wanted the decision to come out on the 20th :( :( :(

colleges usually send out emails on how to check your decision a few days in advance. it wasn't going to be the 20th because they haven't sent us anything yet (or at least that's what my pessimistic mind thought)

CProspect2008, actually WUSTL sends email 2 days after the online decision came out .

i see , but actually u get those instuctions when colleges email u ur usernames/passwords in the first place. NU did that as well

Or when the decisions are just about to be released. Depends on the college actually. How was it with NW last year?

last year they were going crazy as well. in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/northwestern-university/315480-rd-notification-date-5.html?highlight=date

One person checked the website where it said: "Due to the unprecedented 19% increase in applications for the Fall 2007 freshman class, Northwestern University has just finished making all of its admission decisions. Letters will be mailed today, March 30, and an email that will instruct the student how to access his/her admission decision will be sent to the applicant's email address tomorrow, March 31, in the late afternoon."

They released this information on March 30th so there was no advance notice.

just to confirm: the above info is for last year. They'll probably say the same thing: huge increase in applicants made it take longer for us, blah blah,.

Just to throw my two cents in, two years ago my son got his acceptance package in the mail on March 29th. I think it was the same day that he got the e-mail saying the results were up on the admissions page.

Funny story, though... even though the big white envelope was addressed to him, when he opened it and read the letter, it was addressed to someone with the same last name but different first name. Turns out the whole package -- scholarship info and all -- was the other kid's. It took us several hours to reach someone who could confirm that he really did get in. Talk about an emotional roller coaster.

Incorrect- someone got wind ahead of time. I don't remember what thread, but I knew that my decision was coming out noon on the Saturday after I heard from all the other schools.

So I gather nobody has received their decision yet?
I hope so - I don't want to be rejected. :(

Yeah, that story sure is hilarious. [/friendly sarcasm]. Glad he got in though, it'd be horrible if he hadn't after going through that.

March 20th has come and gone and still no word from NU

sigh

I really hope it's not going to be that 4/15 date -_-

i don't think it will be after the ivies (31st)...nu always tries to release early in order to combat the ivy league storm on the 31st/1st. if they release them after...ppl will have less time to decide = bad for nu...

^Yup. Which is why I'm fairly certain It'll be before the 31st. It's just suicide for a school like NU to release its decisions after the Ivies ..

haha interesting point, but i believe its true too.
