so when do we get the letter:

Answered AGAIN:

E-mails will be sent out 12/14 starting 5:00PM EST
Admissions Decisions will be mailed snail mail 12/15.

If I live in Jordan, when will I receive the mail.

so in other words, get the email...

That would obviously depend on the postal system, wouldn't it?

1 month...:(

I suggest that you get both services. That way, you can have an officially printed (if you're lucky enough) acceptance letter to frame, show off to friends and family, etc.

Harvard2011: An applicant will receive a decision snail mail regardless of signing up for the e-mail decision option.

Lol. I'm only a junior, what do I know?

Is the email a copy of the mail?

Yes. When I received my snail mail letter, the official acceptance letter was the same as the E-mail.

is the decision written in the subject line?

I think in another thread it someone said the decision was not in the subject line, but is obvious by the 1st sentence of the e-mail.

Well, if you have gmail then the decision will show up in the inbox since gmail shows a part of every message's first sentence next to the title and sender.

This is true. And I do have gmail. :)

Also, the first sentence of an acceptance email will likely be:

"Dear _______

I am delighted to inform you that the Committe on Admissions and Financial Aid has voted to offer you a place in the Harvard Class of 2010."

Basically, if you open up that inbox and you see the word "delighted": you're in.

What happened for me was when I got my deferral last year through g-mail, it only had my name in the little "preview" thing before I clicked on it to read it. However, when I received my acceptance in the RD round, it said, "I am delighted..."

For EA, the subject line was "Early Action Decision." For the RD round, it was "Admissions Decision."

ahhhhh
i want to see the word delighted!

dreams of the word delighted

what if you see "regret"

dooit, I think you already know the answer to that question...lol
