I visited the campus before I applied to solidify my ED plans but now that I’m for sure going there I want to go again so badly! Is there a program for accepted students at all? If there is it’s probably after RD comes out, but still, is there?

There’s ADOCH (A Day on College Hill) in mid-April i believe

Typically, ADOCH is open only to RD admits because of space and housing issues. They don’t invite ED kids (although I know some people who just showed up). However, Brown encourages you to come visit; if you know a student, you can stay with him or her. I’m sure that the admissions office would help you arrange something if you want to come.

Well not typically, it’s new the last 2 years that ED students are not provided housing with students.

Wait so ED students dont get to go to ADOCH thats outrageous. They are punishing us because we already know we are going there. I know ADOCH is supposed to convince RD students to come there but we should get to come. If not we should get our own thing because we applied ED.

I agree with stressed. If you know anyone there, you can definitely just show up and no one will care. Even though I was RD, I was invited to neither STEM (the science thing… despite starting as a Physics concentrator) nor TWW (as I’m not a minority), but I showed up to both of them, and STEM helped open my eyes to CS as a possibility. And I went to the events for both. Not a big deal: my physics professor was there too, and when I told him at TWW he said that just showing up uninvited is something you should learn to do at Brown.

But we would have nowhere to stay. I mean we could stay at a hotel but getting to stay in the dorm is half the fun. I am angry I think I am going to write them.

hey if you hear anything from them something like “sure we could love to have you” let me know! i want to go!!!

Haha that’s why you need to cultivate friendships with students already there: if you know someone, or know someone who knows someone, they may be willing to keep you (I stayed with a friend for the TWW part of the program). I know a lot of people enjoy having pre-frosh.

yeah, the problem is im the first person to go to Brown from my school ever, so yeah…lol

Does anyone know the date for A Day on The Hill for this year?
