When do we send in midyear reports?

I am a little confused on when to send in midyear reports to the colleges I applied to. I was reading UChicago's blog, and they already had midyear reports sent into them. Are midyear reports only to be sent if you're accepted?

Send them as soon as they're available from your school.

Just the opposite---it's the schools you've applied to that haven't accepted you yet. This generally be RD applicants and late rolling applicants; also applicants that have been deferred in the ED, EA or early RD rounds where the schools want to see the mid-year grades before making an admissions decision.

send them NOW . ASAP!!

oh and check with your colleges if they require mid year reports...some dont

Also, some high schools automatically send out mid-year reports to all the schools that transcripts were originally sent to.

You have to send them in even if you've been accepted EA or ED.

Depends on the school, fuzzylogic.

I agree with 19382 (it's a great zip code, btw).

Example: My D has been accepted to 6 schools, only one EA; none of them want the mid-year grades; only her final grades if she accepts admission.

Still waiting on admissions decisions for 3 schools; only 2 want mid-year grades.

Oh, Ok. Stanford, MIT and Cornell require them so I assumed it was the same way for the rest.

Common Ap has a form for them, so it seems like any common ap school should get them. On some schools' websites, it was very difficult to find the info. On their timelines, or check lists, they didn't mention them at all, then we would find mention by accident on another page. On a few schools, we never did figure out if they wanted them. D sent them to all her schools, regardless. Since first semester, senior year, provided her only US grades, she felt it was important that the schools see them. Nobody has complained.

^On the Common App website, you can click on the name of the school that you've applied to and it lists the requirements for each school.
