When do you find out EA decisions?

So I sent my EA application well before the EA date. When do we get notified of our decision? Thanks.

From what I read online, it appears to be ~Jan. 15. Good luck!

The college says it will inform candidates by Jan 15. It would be nice to know if any EA applicant already got a decision from Wooster.

Less than two weeks left. It feels like an eternity. Any EA applicants who hear - please do let us know!

Is it online or is it via mail?

S applied early action and eagerly waiting for decision. However, today he received this email from a coach. S hasn’t played that sport in upper school and never mentioned anything about that specific sport in his application or during his campus visit. Any idea why he might have received this email. I’m assuming it was either sent to the wrong student or it is a mass mailing from the coach. Did you receive such email from Wooster or from another college? Here is the email with the name and sport removed.

My name is XXX, the head mens XXX coach at the College of Wooster and I wanted to send you an email to let you know we are still interested in you. I would like to know if you are still interested in attending the college and if you are, I would like you to schedule a visit. Also I would like to know if you are still strongly interested in playing XXX. If you have an questions feel free to email me at XXX@wooster.edu or call my cell at XXX.

rational, I haven’t received an e-mail from a coach. you may want to reply to the given e-mail and let them know they may have the wrong person, or call admissions.

greg60r: yes S replied. Any contact is good contact. We were a bit puzzled by the email, so we were wondering if it was a mass mailing…

When Wooster’s makes a decision, will they update the online status and/or send email notification?

Rational2, my D applied EA as well. Are you currently able to access your S’s status online?

swohiomom: Yes, we are able to access status online. The following message gives me the impression that they intend to update status online.

"The portal is here to help you through the admissions
process from application to admission and reduce your
stress along the way!

Click on the tabs above to update your information or to check
on your application status."

rational2: Thank you for your response! Where do you access the admission portal? I must not be looking in the right place.

S received an email (listed in commonapp) a couple of days after he submitted the supplement. The email was titled “College of Wooster Helpful Tools” and had the account name and password. If your D didn’t receive this email, perhaps you should call admissions office and ask them to send it again.

I should note that he submitted the supplement first, and then submitted the rest of the application a few days later. This email was triggered by the first submission through the common app web site.

Thank you again, rational2. D didn’t apply via Common App, so we’ve contacted Admissions. Have you heard anything yet? My D is also anxious for a decision. Good luck to your S.

My D is also anxiously awaiting her decision. She has been checking her status through the admissions portal. She also wrote an essay for the College Scholar Award and is waiting to hear about that. Good luck to all!

Oh man! I am dying for the decision. COW is my best safety.

January 14. Still nothing in the mailbox.

Same here, susan. I guess they’re really gonna hold out 'til the 15th. Good luck everyone!

do you guys think it’ll automatically updated at midnight or we’d have to wait until 10 AM or something? I’m SO excited, this is my first college decision!

good question. will we first learn about our decision through the admissions portal or throguh an e-mail?
