(sorry for the small moment of bragging) I received my letter today! Accepted with a 14k/year scholarship! Thanks for the support, everyone!

Yay greg60r!!! Do you think you will attend?

i still havent received my letter either… I live in Maryland
and i guess i deleted the email with the online portal information because i cant find it anywhere
guess ill just have to wait a little longer

susan, I’m not positive yet, but it’s really high on my list. If I am accepted to Earlham or Bates (big “if” with Bates), it will be a tough choice. A lot of it will depend on finances, but the merit aid I received certainly won’t hurt. I can safely say it’s one of my top 3 choices.

How about your daughter?

Congratulations Greg6or!

hey collegelover 8, I also live in Maryland and I got mine acceptance a few days ago! So it should be well on its way, perhaps look on the porches of vacationing neighbors because that’s where I’ve been finding my mail :)

Wooster is in top 3 also. She applied to Colby, also in Maine, but that’s a big “if” to get in, and another big “if” to have it be affordable! She already has a very good offer from New College of Florida, and she loves that school, but is not sure she can manage without snow (snowboarder). But she may be snowboarding on winter break only for the next 4 years!

Greg6or, good for you! Still waiting here. Saw a post on **************, where a poster said she had been deferred to RD at COW due to an abundance of applicants. I believe she was international. My S has a nice offer from Drew, and an acceptance from our state flagship, so he’ll be OK. But he is a bit tired of northern NE winters. Greg6or, Lewiston, ME has along snowy winters, although I never minded when I was younger!

Merlin, I cannot imagine that your son is going to hear good news shortly, if not today. I have been following your posts about him. I would be shocked (his stats, your alumni relations, your state adds diversity).

I appreciate all the support. You folks are wonderful to put up with my “mother angst.” It came today. Good merit aid. We are happy.

Merlin, I knew it would be great news all along!!!

Congrats!! :)

Thank you! Now we can plan a trip to visit Wooster. Hope to see some of you there.

Congrats, merlin! Let me know if your son decides on Wooster! Oh and I know about those winters, my brother attends Bates!:p

We are tentatively setting up a visit for sometime over the next few weekends for a music audition. D has never visited so it will be a good time for her to determine if she can really picture herself there. I’m a little concerned that this time of year she probably won’t see the campus at its best – I have no idea what the weather will be like – but I guess it works both ways. If she likes what she sees now, she will absolutely love it in the spring and fall seasons.

FLVADAD, We visited on a very cold and grey day in early December - no snow, just a typical Ohio winter day. They campus was still lovely. While it was freezing outside, the inside of the academic buildings (at least the few we saw) have a warm feeling to them - lots of woodwork, natural brick, good lighting, etc. (not institutional at all). Another plus, at least for us, is that the campus has a much larger feel than the enrollment number would have you think. I think your D will like Wooster in any season (my D did)!

Don’t worry, my daughter fell in love with the campus when it was 40 degrees and rainy! If it’s right, it’s right.

I finally found out the good news. Haha, I sincerely hope I was the last person. Maybe I will see you guys next year :)

Yeah, D’s first visit was cold and gray. But she loved the fire pit in the student center. And some of the dorms there were the nicest we have seen.

College of Wooster apparently lost my EA folder somewhere. But they were generous enough to re-consider all my scanned files and my application for scholarships…By when do you think I should receive a reply…I mean the decision…I re-sent those files last week and I had applied EA.
