When do you find out how much Financial Aid you actually receive?

I know that the FASFA page on GROWL is just an estimate. Does anyone know when we find exactly how much money we get?

im interested in this as well.
i updated the fafsa couple months ago with current tax info which significantly dropped EFC and on GROWL it has the same estimate. I was wondering if they would give me more money.

I would say that they would present your financial aid with more certainty around late July or August. On my 2008-2009 (freshman year) “Award Status” on GROWL, it said that my financial aid award was generated on August 1, 2008.

Perhaps it may show up earlier because I’m looking at my GROWL financial “Award Status” for 2009-2010 and it says: “Awards for continuing UCR undergraduate students with a complete financial aid application will be generated beginning in mid June.”

If you are certain that you will be taking out loans, they will PRESENT a certain loan amount on GROWL. You can accept the offered amount, lower it, or petition for a higher amount (I think they’re more careful about this, so you probably wouldn’t need to raise it unless there’s a severe error.)

It wouldn’t hurt to call and ask, especially if you made changes to your FAFSA and the presented amount doesn’t reflect these changes.
