They probably let us know at orientation but I forgot. Thanks for the help :D

If you got your photo taken at orientation, you’ll get it at move-in.

Otherwise there’s a specific day you go to get your picture taken, and you get it soon after. You get a temp bus and meal pass until then.

Since our IDs are the keys into our rooms, how do we get in if we didn’t take a photo at orientation and thus don’t get our IDs on move-in day?

Or… are our IDs not our keys? I am confused on this subject.

yes I did get my photo taken at orientation, good to know I’ll get it on move in day. Thanks!

@iggykins: Oh, I have no idea what happens for people in those cases. A lot of the colleges still use keys. Only 8/9/10 use their IDs as keys as far as I know.

^ Haha, ok! I’ll just have to wait and see then.

Porter uses ID cards for both entry to the buildings and entry to rooms (dorms). When I was at 10 during the summer, my ID card was only for entry into the building, but I had a real key for entry to my room.

If you don’t get your ID at move-in, you’ll get a temporary card that will let you into the appropriate buildings and rooms if applicable.
