August 18th.
-_-

apparently I do too, didn't know there was a law saying that schools couldn't start until the 25th...

oh well, I start on the 18th

Do any of the following apply to you: Charter school, private school, special school? Private schools don't have to follow the rules.

We go back September 3rd, about a week earlier than we normally do.

August 18 (10char)

first day of class is sept. 25th

Do you September people like going back in September and what time do you guys get out of school? July?

First Wednesday of September. This year, it's the third, I believe.

I love going back to school in September because my birthday (and two friends' birthdays) are in the last week of August. It would be screwy to mess with that.

We get out in the last week of June.

i think we get out in june too...so we get extra long summers..which i'm definitely not complaining about

I'll go back to school on August 28th or around that date... and I officially end around June 20th-25th, though our exams end one week or so before that. We get long vacations... plus all those days where teachers have conferences. In the end, we have 180 days of school.

Has anybody read::

Mountains Beyond Mountains

or...

Lincoln's Sword

????? these are my summer assignments and I was wondering which one was more interesting.

Our county recently ruled that we could have no summer assignments. :)

Never had summer assignements in my life...ever! Our teachers are rather laid-back and they don't give out much assignements and exams in the year, granted that our exams account for more than 80% of our grades. And they don' have to correct it... it's a win-win situation, at least for me :)

Lol I checked my calendar and it appears as though I start on the 25th, too...

Although under "SCHOOL STARTS FOR STUDENTS" it says "(tentative)" -- I wonder if there's still room for change?

And we get out mid-June.

That makes me laugh.

Tentative for a school start date.

August 25th :(

22 more days. I cannot express in words how utterly sad I am. Perhaps smileys will do: :( :( :( :( :(

I'm also one of those who still have a long way to go to finish my summer homework. More smileys? :( :( :(

Oh, man, me too. Ugh. :[[[

I'm looking forward to school, though. Ish. Actually, I'm more looking forward to receiving my schedule, which should come in the next week or two!!

18 August here in Miami, FL

aigiqinf, I'm a September starter, and we get out mid-June. I REALLY like it because then it's just getting warm when you get out and it's starting to cool down when you go back.

I used to get out the end of May and go back mid-August. It was cold when we got out of school and scorching when we went back.

I live in NY and my school has class for freshman on the 3rd and the 4th and then everyone else starts on the 5th. Lucky for me im not going to school the first day because i have to go up to Mass. that day for my first football game of the season

August 28: go to all classes and have an early dismissal
September 2: When school REALLY begins
