<p>I talked to my counselor in school today and she told me that if I made NMSF, I would already know. As a member of the Class of 2014, I got really freaked out because I thought we find out this stuff in September! I got a 219 in Texas and the highest cutoff score was a 219 two years ago. Last year, it was a 216. Is my counselor mistaken or did I miss out on NMS?</p>
<p>Your counselor is wrong. Your school will get the information for the applications in late summer. You will be given an application to fill out, probably in September. This does depend on the cut-off for Texas, but it sounds as though you are in the ballpark. Good luck.</p>

<p>You’re counselor is mostly wrong; however, sometimes you can compare your scores to past cutoff scores in your state to see your chances of becoming a NMF. That’s what I did; I got a 215 in LA where the usual cutoff score is about a 209ish. So, I’ll likely be a NMF.</p>
