My daughter was admitted for Fall 2018.
But we are confused about when to register for classes. Her workspace currently says she can’t register because they are missing her health forms. We just sent them 2 days ago. Once they clear, can she register for courses? or does registration only take place during Preview Orientation?
I’ve always heard classes get full very quickly, very nervous about leaving this for last minute.
Thanks!
She can only register during Preview. UF will have an adviser hold placed on her records, which is removed during preview. It is best to make sure all of the other holds are removed, so she doesn’t run into any issues during preview.
They keep a % of spaces open in freshman/sophomore classes for each preview session. That way a student in a later preview session will not be at a disadvantage to one going to an earlier session.
It’s possible to find a class full in the very first preview session, but someone in the last session may find it open.
Also, she will be able to still go through add/drop in the first week of school. If a class is full, she may find a slot available at that time.
In most cases, students get into the classes they want, they just may not get the schedule they wanted (everyone hates 1’st or 2nd period classes!).
Thank you @gator88NE! This is really helpful!
Don’t worry about classes filling. Yes they fill fast, but ive registered for 5 total semesters at UF so far and have gotten every classes i have needed/wanted by stalking one.uf…do not worry
