I'm applying ED and wanted to know when to send in part I of the application. When part I is sent in, when are interviews usually scheduled (I live in NJ right next to the GWB). Reason i ask is because i want to know if the interviewer has any info on me besides my geographical info, like my school grades, sat's, etc. If you guys could give me some insight as to what exactly the interviewer has about the interviewee that would be great. Much love

It is reccomended to send it in ASAP. I sent mine in on 9/9 but I guess that didn't do any good because I haven't gotten any confirmation of them recieving it.

You get into the interview database when you submit Part 1. You could get called anytime between the next day and basically the end of November. Most interviews will happen between late October and late November.

I'm not sure whether it is appropriate for me to say exactly what the interviewer has on the applicants. Regardless, how is it relevant to anything?

well im just wondering if the conversation is more about the applicant and her/his credentials and why those credentials (whether they be academic or extracurricular) make the applicant a fit at columbia or if its more about columbia itself and questions the applicant has about columbia

It should be about both. It shouldn't be about your numbers, though. There isn't much to say about them. Your grades/SATs are what thay are. More appropriate conversation would be why you like certain classes/subjects, what you find intellectually stimulating, etc.

So the interviewer will just call my phone number and interview me then and there, on the phone, with no preparation? Or will they call and schedule a time for an interview?

They'll call/email to set up an in-person interview. Or, they may do it over the phone if you live somewhere far far away.
