I'm not talking about visitting college. I mean the APPLICATION

I started drafting essays and worked on improving my writing the summer before senior year. I looked at the essay prompts from the year before to get an idea of what might be asked. Nearly every female in my family is a teacher, three of them English teachers, so I had lots of help with essays that summer. It most certainly wasn’t fun, but it did help. By the time Thanksgiving rolled around, nearly every application was already submitted and I could focus on semester tests at school without worrying about college applications. No matter what, do NOT procrastinate!!! ;)

GOOD LUCK!!!

It is recommended that you start early (by early Sep when most applications start coming out) and even possibly earlier working on your essays so you can get everything done before deadline dates.

Now, of course, if you are like 50% of the typical high school students who apply for college, you will begin working on your application the day before it is due. And if you are like another 45% you will begin working on the application the afternoon of the day it is due. And if you are like the remaining 5%, you will eventually post on these boards asking if your application will still be considered even if it is submitted after the deadline date.

Well I believe the Common App is released on July 1st so I would start then. It was nice to finish my college app before hand so I didn’t have to worry.
