When do you think I'll hear/what are my chances?

ok thanks and do you know how many people are ‘considered’

I think all the people who were
offered waitlist were offered consideration for Blinn Team.
Not sure how many accepted that offer. Looks like the final count will be in by May 1.

I’m hearing a lot of people that were accepted had parents who were Aggies. What do you think about that twist?

I think it could be that the applicant’s with Aggie parents have automatic-admit credentials. I’m not sure how much it factors into the decision… I doubt it’s much because my little brother was waitlisted and I’m an Aggie, my sister came here, my dad came here, about 7 of my cousins…

Texas A&M abolished the legacy admit in 2004.

Legacy consideration has been “officially” removed from the criteria at a lot of colleges. That being said, colleges need money, and they get a lot of money from alumni and alumni are more likely to donate if they are happy with the school (their relatives are admitted). I don’t think it’s as big of an issue at A&M as other places but it’s hard to say it has no influence at all.

There was on acceptance at our school where family name probably had a lot of say in the admission decision, but the rest seemed normal. Out of the 5 of us admitted off waitlist so far, only 1 had any family alumni. The trend seemed to be students with high sat/act scores, rather than GPA.
