So I was checking my bill on the site, and I saw a bill of $3,5XX due! Most of it was from "RH DBL QTRLY Install+Dining", which was around $3,200. I'm scared, because we can't afford this. I thought the estimated cost was around $28,000, so shouldn't that be around $9,000 a quarter? Confused, please help.

That’s the rate for 1 quarter of res hall housing in a doubles room in addition to the cost of the dining card plan. Did you sign up for housing when you applied?

Add that to the ~4700$ in tuition and campus fees for this quarter, and you get around ~8200$ for quarterly fees, which is well under 9000$.

If you’re a freshman, and you applied for the FAFSA by March 2nd + completed your cal grant verification, you should have gotten your award letter around June, I think.

Your aid gets disbursed to your account after you sign up for classes. Disbursement usually starts around September. Then the remainder gets deposited into your bank account for books/transportation/etc.

As a sidenote, you can sign up for TRIP (Triton Registration Installment Plan) on Tritonlink to defer your quarterly tuition fees into monthly payments.

Quick note Blue and Gold only cover system-wide fees, so not housing.
Rec fees are mandatory, just like the student activities fees and student resources fees.

any idea why for me, TRIP repayment installment shows up twice? same $ value for each installment. there’s one for 10/04 and one for 11/01 so are they charging me two installments at once? i don’t think they’ve ever done that before…

Bumping this thread. Still not 100% sure how aid gets disbursed. Checked the FA site and found this, “Sign up for direct deposit by Tuesday August 30 for your Fall Quarter funds to credit your bank account at the beginning of the quarter, starting Thursday September 22.”

So the “adjusted amount due” gets disbursed when school starts? What about loans? I recall seeing something about aid getting disbursed on the 13th of this month.

Basically once you accept your reward from the financial aid page, within a few days I think, the money will automatically go towards your tuition fees, and whatever is left over gets deposited into your bank account for you to use at your discretion (which is usually books, or other personal expenses).
