I took the PSAT this year (sophomore) and got a pretty good score (187). I included my email and address just because I am really excited to hear about colleges even if it is just spam. I was wondering if anyone else started getting mail? I was told that you get tons of mail but I haven't gotten any yet. Maybe I entered the address wrong? or have they just not started sending the mail yet?

I don’t remember getting any spam mail via e-mail last year. The only e-mail I got as a result of it was something in December saying PSAT scores are online. (a very pointless message indeed)

All the college spam was sent by mail I believe.

Oh, did you check the box saying that colleges could send you information?

I believe I did.

I already got two things from Stanford and one thing from Yale…

The spam starts when you get your scores.

Enjoy 2 years of junk mail!!

Yes, the spam mail will come in email and snail mail forms. One day, I had 14 letters in my mailbox. Another day, I got emails from about 10 colleges. There were many that I had never heard of that reached out to me, and it really is fun to receive at first… until you submit your college deposit!

haha, should I assume I’m not getting any if I haven’t yet?

I’ve never gotten any emails from colleges, but I get multiple letters and packets from ones every. single. day.

At least I know I’m doing something good for the world, recycling it all.

I have not received any mail. I took the PSAT, PLAN, and ACT. I don’t know PSAT score, I got a 24 on plan, 28 on ACT. (How do colleges get a hold of our info, anyway?)

I just got a 204 on mine (sophomore) and I haven’t gotten any spam yet either, and I definitely checked off the box for them to send me stuff. Hopefully some comes soon, it might be kind of fun haha

It’s fun until you start getting your mailbox filled up with huge brochures from Nowhere University…

I got a bunch of mail after I got a 30 on my PLAN back in Sophomore year.

^Yeah. I think it started around this time, maybe later in the month. Don’t freak out if you don’t get any though, some colleges may be trying to save money by not giving out any. (A lot of them sophomore year say the same thing, i.e. “return this form for the seven tips to selecting a great college.”) I really liked it when instead of getting these letters, I got viewbooks, with housing, academics, all sorts of stuff. Those were the colleges I looked at online.

I got some my sophomore year, but many more my junior year (colleges try to save money by just sending it when you’re really looking). Unfortunately, it went on through my senior year and now, as a freshman in college, I’m still getting some!

Yeah, you look forward to it now. Wait until the mail becomes piles in your bedroom, and the emails require separate folders to stay organized. It gets really, REALLY, ridiculous at a certain point. But enjoy it while you can.

Can anyone answer this? After i took it in sophomore year i got a ton of mail from colleges. This year i took it as a junior, got a 217, and i haven’t received mail for a few months. I check the box for them to send me stuff. Why am i not getting any mail.
