When does CalArts send out acceptance letters

The subject line says it all. Does anyone know when CalArts sends out acceptances. Also would like to hear from current students regarding their experiences there.

It depends on which program you applied to.

Character/Experimental Animation: around March 20th
Photography: Now
Art: Some rejections have been sent out already, not sure bout acceptances.

I applied for Character Animation this year! What did you apply to?
Also, a great forum about CalArts animation is Animatedbuzz Forums :: Index

i go there and the only thing i know is that they've already sent out the stuff for mfa art.

when i applied, i heard back first week of march

and regarding experiences, it really depends on the program. each are different and require different things of the student.. some are more structured, some arnt.

I applied for film. How's the school, campus, and surrounding city in general?

I went for csssa and got a small preview of the campus and the random stuff around it. The city is really secure and ....isolated, though it is 30-40 minutes (on GOOD weather) to get to LA. But basically the school is in the middle of no where, and calarts is the oasis. I fell in love with the campus, it has such an indescribable ambiance to it. Umm if you like skunks and bunnies and squirrels, theres a lot of them. And if you're danger prone like me, there's a Henry Mayo clinic closeby- which is a plus! And also Saugus Cafe is nearby- YAY!

Anyone know about decisions for Acting majors? I'm at the edge of my seat here!

I auditioned for BFA acting too, and I had sent a thank you to the head of the program around feb. 15 , who replied saying that they were finishing up auditions, and would be putting the class together...it seemed that they will probably make decisions in the next couple weeks, but it was a little vague! I hope that means soon!

I got my acceptance letter for the Film & Video program (as a transfer student) yesterday and i live in Laguna Beach. They come in waves and they are all hand signed...so don't fret if you have't recieved anything yet, it doesnt mean you're not in!

My son got his acceptance into Character Animation at CalArts today. Good luck to everyone.

Are thee any students who were accepted into the theatre program? If so, would you mind existing your audition experience? Please!
