I was looking at the Duke Blue Book, and it says that final exams end at 10:00 pm on December 16th. However, that is a Sunday. Does that mean that they really end on Friday, December 14th, or do they have exams on the weekend?

Any help would be appreciated, as I'm beginning to look at flights.

I had a 7-10 saturday exam last fall and have another saturday exam this fall. If you are in trinity, you usually do get out a little earlier just based on your classes.

Also be care to check block final schedules. large classes (esp for engineers) like the required math and intro sciences and intro foreign languages sometimes test at the same time in a different time slot than the assigned one for that class period.

For the Writing 20 classes there is often a paper due at the end. My D's professor moved the due date of the paper to the end of the week (Friday) rather than a Wednesday. So, be careful if you have to fly home - sometimes the due dates for projects are extended and if you are locked into a flight schedule you might miss out if a professor decides to extend the deadline.

Days of the week seem to become meaningless during finals week. There are a bunch of exams on the weekends. Also many times if it's a paper due and you are not around, the professor will most likely accept it as an email attachment. I've had some classes where you submit papers in the digital dropbox on Blackboard (a useful website a good amount of professors use to post assignments, announcements, grades, etc.)
