<p>I received my financial aid award letter from UVA. But under the awards, there is a note that these awards are the "early estimates" of the actual award, and the actual award will be finalalized only after going through the Board of Trustees. And there is an asterick(*) before it saying that those all awards are pending. Did anyone else get that? What does that mean? Is this not real award?</p>

<p>But this is all estimate, right? These are not the final awards. What happens in final awards? Do they vary a lot from these estimates? When do the final awards come?</p>
<p>princefoam, I'm not too sure on my exact family income. But my financial award says $11,334 grants/scholarships, $1800 work study, $3000 perkins loan, $2625 subsidized loan, and EFC $15010</p>

<p>The UVA website is a wealth of information for so many topics. Spend some time there poking around. For financial aid you should get an understanding of the Access UVA program. As far as your aid form, read that too. The numbers are estimated but the the Board of Visitors has approved the increases for 2005-2006 and beyond. (Also, on the website under a news bulletin.) As far as I can tell your numbers should already reflect what was anticipated. At the bottom it says don't reply unless you are not accepting part of the package. For example, if you do not want the work study or one of the loans. Unless your financial picture changes then your package should remain close to the same next year. But you can always depend on loan portions increasing. Stafford loans go from 2625, 3500, 5550, 5550. The biggest change to the EFC can be if a sibling enrolls in college or graduates.</p>
