When does freshmen orientation start.

<p>When does JHU school year start. I was admitted under Early Decision, so I'm looking to buy airplane tickets early so that I may save some money. Could you advise what my departure date should be?</p>

<p>Orientation will run from August 31 - September 4
First day of classes will be Thursday, September 6</p>

<p>Do note that your specific move-in day may not be August 31. Incoming freshmen are assigned one of two move-in days (Aug. 31 or Sept. 1) depending on where they will be living. Room assignments are not provided until the middle of the summer. Also, if you plan on doing a Pre-O trip you may even arrive early. Therefore, you may not want to book airline tickets that can not be changed. </p>

Just wondering-- can you please tell us more regarding the mailing schedule? For example, what month will the packets arrive? What kind of packets are they?
Because I might go on vacation in the summer and there probably isn't anyone in my house to receive these packets, knowing when these super important packets arrive will help me to plan my travel accordingly I guess. Okay, thanks a lot!</p>

<p>The mailing schedule is something that is provided to students after their enrollment deposit has been received and processed. Admitted early decision students will receive this document during the next round of updates, which they will probably get at the end of March. Admitted regular decision students will receive the document after their deposit has been processed. </p>

<p>Information is sent throughout the entire summer - usually every two weeks.</p>
