I show that I owe approximately 10k for first semester so far with charges to my account, and that the first payment is due Aug 31.

Now, when will they disperse their aid to my account (grant money, scholarship, etc)

After my personal scholarships are added, I have only 207 dollars left to pay them, now must I actually give them this money? Or will it just not be given back to me when they refund me the money for spending and books (which I have already purchased)

Flapm, just so you’re prepared, you do need to make that $207 payment by Aug. 31 to avoid late fees. You can make it online, or by mail, or in person.
Also, I don’t recall if you’re from Michigan or not. If you are, you will have an additional $500 to pay because the promise scholarship funds have NOT been sent by the state, even though you can see them on the scholarship/list (they still say "estimated.) This is because the state of Michigan might axe those awards and won’t decide until Oct. Pretty crappy of the state, and NOT the university’s fault, btw.

Also, your account should show the amount of fin aid/scholarship that is being released/applied to your account as of right now that will offset the billing items – so if the difference is only $207 and you are from MI, then you still only owe 207 (but would have had about $300 coming BACK to you if the state would KEEP its PROMISES. I think the full invoice will be up Monday for review. Let me know if you have any problems and I’ll try to clarify.
Cheers,
K

Contact UMich about what they’re doing about the Promise scholarship. At MSU, they are giving us the $1000 either way, whether the funds come or not. See if UMich is doing the same thing.
