When does MIT finish deliberations?

good luck yall! I have a good feeling about us CCers.

Does anyone know if the acceptance packet says 'Congratulations' on the outside? All of the other acceptances I've received have...but I hope MIT doesn't - I don't want to know I've been rejected before I even open the thing. ;-)

Last year's did not, but it was large, and had a colorful stripe with the letters M I T prominently displayed. It wasn't the sort of package anything other than an acceptance would be likely to come in.

do any of you keep checkg out (like every one hour--nerd!) Matt's blog for some latest news?

Can you find out online or do they send out emails with your decisions?

Waiting is a pain... so shortening the suffering by 3 days sounds good

Orangecake: We don't know at this point whether they'll be doing online notifications...

MIT does not send decisions in emails. They will begin the practice of making decisions known through an applicant's MyMIT portal, but as noted in several threads here (and in Ben's and Matt's blogs), it is not guaranteed that testing on this process will be completed in time to release this year's Regular Admission decisions in that way.

You might just have to wait for a decision to arrive in the mail. It's still up in the air.

if its STILL up in the air and they decided to implement it, will it be ready by the time mail gets sent?

As soon as they know, they'll let you know. I suspect if it's going to be available this year, they'll know soon. They wouldn't implement it at the last minute without sufficient testing, and it's been going through testing for a number of weeks already.

It will either be ready or it won't. I recommend patience and breathing.

Yeah, patience and breathing.

Seriously, I love you guys, but you're all driving me a little nuts with this whole "at precisely which nanosecond, expressed in eastern standard time, will MIT decisions be available for me specifically?" thing.

It will come soon enough.

alright, molliebatmit, we will wait here patinetly for your good news!

soon enough. only 2 weeks! and 4 weeks until everything else comes...

hyperventilates

I don't quite get what's hard about the decisions online. They already had it so our my.mit portals updated with the admit info once we got accepted for the EA round, so why doesn't that work for telling decisions?

The portal was merely updated with appropriate links, etc. a week after the EA decisions were mailed. Setting it up so decisions can be announced online is a slightly different beast. It should be coming before long, but rather than rush it and have a mistake happen, it's better that they test carefully before unveiling it.

yea my teacher who worked for mit in AI stuff told me all the numerous technical problems that could go wrong with online decisions. the techies must be doing their job! :]

and thanks to molliebatmit for suggesting patience and breathing haha. we all need it. (i luv ur blogs btw - gl with ur grad school decisions!)

woooooo march 18th! good luck to all!

ugh (the stomach acid is trying a way to make me feel sick) all i thought about at school was how im going to have to deal if i get rejected
