When does MIT release their essays for 2018

I want to get a head start on my essays considering MIT is my first choice. I want to get these essays written perfectly and efficiently so any advice for writing essays along with the answer to the aforementioned question will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day!

I think that they release their essays on August.

They were released July 26 last year for Class of 2021 applicants. So expect them to be released around the same time.

Most of the questions (if not all) should be the same, so look at last year’s questions to get a feel for what you might want to put down if the questions repeated.

Thank you, I took your advice and looked at the essays from prior years. Based on those prompts I’ve written the essays and am now waiting for the application to open.

i’ll post them this wknd, but they’re the same as last year

@MITChris Are they the same for transfer students? Or does the application in Slideroom have their own set of specific essays for transfers?

different set. I’ll ask my colleague if I can/should blog those.

@MITChris, can you supply a link to the essay questions? I find this quote on the MIT website which I hope helps the OP and others, but the quote makes it sound like the essay questions may not be available until late August.

“The 2018 application will be available in late August through your MyMIT account. The application fee is $75. MIT is not part of the Common Application or Universal Application. You may open a MyMIT account now and have your name added to our monthly admissions newsletter of awesome stuff happening at MIT. Opening a MyMIT account will also add your name to our email list so that you’ll receive a notice when the application is available and other important updates.”
