Well, looking at this thread from last year it appears that those with pretty good stats, that applied relatively early, started to get acceptance letters by mid-November. I was curious too, since I have a S that just applied back in October.

D's acceptance letter last year was dated November 14, but sent in the mail and came several days later. The website would only say that "a decision has been made on your application. . ."

Hi, question if anyone can answer.

And I enjoy the site, long time lurker.

My D's page just says that a decision has been made....So, what are the chances that she's not in? I know to look for the envelope, but does PS usually deny admission this early? She applied to a branch.

This is just awful making us wait like this.

Wow. Seems crazy to list online that "a decision has been made" but not send notification for weeks. It's one thing to have a college or U put in writing that decisions will be on a given date. But to put up that a decision has been made weeks prior to that, but not release the decision. Sure, for many the decision has been made weeks before, maybe as soon as the application was read. But to put it out there that there is a decision, but not release the results... we'd be a little crazy, too.

I agree, it seems crazy to me, too. The Penn State page for my D just says a decision has been made and she will receive in the mail in TWO WEEKS.

So, she's trying and I'm trying to decipher all of this to see if we think she's in or not.

From my D's experience last year, I'd say an early status change means a yes. We didn't hear of any no responses until January at the earliest.

Both my sons say the same "a decision has been made" deal. Does this go for SHC too? Or is that a separate acceptance?

SHC decisions are not made until February.

shoot...my page still says "application received and being reviewed"

I applied near the beginning of August... lol

Not that I can figure out PSUs admisssion, but my D applied to a Branch as her first choice. She knew the main campus was out of her reach, she didn't even try. The hope was that would get her into the branch she actually preferred and end up at Main in two years. She applied at the end of September.

My sons both had November decisions, both "yeses".

Blah mine still says its being reviewed. it'skilling me haha. the whole waiting for colleges to accept is just killing me. AHH haha.

well the only way i could ever answer is that penn state's rolling notification according to college board is Nov. 1st (university park dunno bout the branches) but yeah so even if someone did apply in Sept. they couldn't have expected to hear until like this month.
